About Tech Collective

Tech Collective is the technology industry association of Rhode Island. We are an Industry Partner with the Governor's Workforce Board of Rhode Island for the Information Technology and Bioscience industries. A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we derive our funding from membership, fundraising and grant awards.

Our Mission

Tech Collective’s mission is to inspire, engage, educate and employ a burgeoning technological and Knowledge Economy in Rhode Island through:

    Uniting industry, government and education

    Raising technology awareness and participation

Cultivating existing and emerging IT and Bioscience sectors

Growing the economy through a high-skill, high-wage workforce pipeline with ample employment opportunities

    Developing people personally and professionally

Promoting strong, proactive, collaborative and leadership-driven technology industries

We are accomplishing this mission through a driven focus on Community Building and Workforce Development. Tech Collective builds and strengthens community by creating partnerships and offering thought-provoking forums as well as organizing state-wide participation in events like Forward Thinking, GRRL Tech and Technology Laureate’s Night. In promoting and developing a highly-skilled Rhode Island workforce, Tech Collective also drives technology-based education and training programs for students in grades K -16 as well as for incumbent and transitioning workers. For more information about how we are realizing a prosperous workforce, community and economy, visit www.tech-collective.org.

Our Vision

Tech Collective’s vision is developing people personally and professionally in knowledge and in talent. Our vision is to create a flourishing economy that is secure, sustainable and bolstering with the high-tech, high-wage and high-demand jobs that will drive the prosperity of every industry, business and person throughout the world.

Our vision is to build a strong workforce pipeline beginning in pre-K STEM education through continuing education. The pipeline will offer not only classroom education, but also hands-on and internship and experiential learning opportunities. Our pipeline talents will become much more than technology professionals, they will become a community of risk-takers, innovators, drivers, developers and mentors. They will become leaders. They will not only step into the shoes of the leaders who inspired them years before, our new generation will take those shoes farther than previously dreamed. And they will do it together. Individually as well as collaboratively, these leaders, no matter from what industry, educational institution or government – will stand together as a global community in the Knowledge Economy.

A lasting legacy of unlimited talent and economic potential is our vision. It is our future. Together, with teamwork, skill, commitment, innovation and leadership, we can achieve it. Tech Collective is at the forefront… take a look and get involved.
