Tim Hebert, President and Chairman of the Board
CEO, Atrion Networking Corporation

 

Oscar "Tim" Hebert has always been a visionary. Over the past two decades, Tim has acquired a wealth of experience and firsthand knowledge in the leading edge information technologies sector. Tim has become a much sought after speaker and consultant for his expertise in devising strategic technological solutions to help national and international companies. He has served as the Chief Operating Officer for Atrion Networking Corporation since 1990, when he and his partner co-founded the company. In October 2006, Hebert assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Atrion as the company transitioned. Hebert has been a driving force in the information and networking technology industry and has led Atrion's growth from US$2 million in annual revenues to its current run-rate of approximately US$45 million.

 
 

Charles Schmidt, Secretary of the Board
Partner, Duffy & Sweeney, LTD

 

Charles "Chuck" Schmidt serves as Secretary to the Board and has been active in Tech Collective for many years. He works behind the scenes to enhance the organizations corporate governance and structure. As Partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology Law group at Duffy & Sweeney, Chuck concentrates his practice on technology and business law. He often advises clients multi-national corporations, emerging technology companies and entrepreneurs on both the business and technology issues that impact their workplaces. Chuck joined Duffy & Sweeney in 2005 after an eleven-year legal career at several public and private technology companies, most recently eCredit.com, Inc., where he served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary.

 

 
 

Phil Carlucci, Vice Chairman of Board
Vice President of Service Delivery, Hasbro

 

Phil Carlucci serves as a board member and chairs the InfoGroup Steering Committee for the Tech Collective. He works for Hasbro, Inc. where he has held various IT positions over the past 16 years and is currently the Vice President of Service Delivery. The position oversees the global Infrastructure of Hasbro's IT Department. In addition to his regular duties at Hasbro, Phil is also a member of the Hasbro's Heroes review committee which recognizes the outstanding volunteer efforts of their RI employees. Phil serves on several boards of non-profit organizations which operate in Rhode Island.

 
 

David Goggin, Board Director
Director, State Government Affairs, Amgen, Inc.

 

David is responsible for managing Amgen’s government affairs the six-state New England region. He has been with Amgen since 2003. Prior to joining Amgen, David served for over ten years in public service to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, working in both the executive and legislative branches of state government. David is the co-founder of the New England Biotechnology Association and serves on the association’s board of directors. He also serves on the board of the New England Council, where he co-chairs the council’s technology committee. David holds a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts, an M.P.A. from Harvard University, and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.

 

 
 

Gail Carvelii, Board Director
Director, Strategy/Content, (add)ventures

 

As the Director, Strategy/Content for (add)ventures, a multidisciplinary communications firm headquartered in Providence, Gail manages brand building along with corporate messaging through public relations and marketing initiatives for an extensive array of clients, such as CVS Caremark, Hasbro, Inc., and the Renaissance Providence Hotel.

Prior to joining (add)ventures, Gail managed crisis communications and media relations for Lifespan, one of the largest health care systems in New England, and brand and corporate public relations for Hasbro, the second largest toy company in the world.

Gail, who started her career as a newspaper reporter, has also managed public relations in the high-tech industry and worked as a magazine editor. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.

 

 
 

Nancy Carriuolo, Board Director
President of Rhode Island College

 

Dr. Nancy Carriuolo was named the ninth president of Rhode Island College on May 12, 2008 by the state’s Board of Governors for Higher Education. During 2007-2008, Carriuolo served as Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs at Rhode Island College, overseeing the management of academic activities and programs for the College, while maintaining her duties as Deputy Commissioner and Chief Academic Officer at the Rhode Island Office of Higher Education (RIOHE).

Carriuolo was promoted to that position in 2006 after serving since 2000 as Associate Commissioner for Academic and Student Affairs. She served as the director of the Office of School/College Relations at the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and, immediately prior to joining the Office of Higher Education, served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of New Haven, where she became a tenured full professor of English. She was also the founding statewide leader of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Council on Education's network of women leaders in higher education and is a newly appointed member of the Rhode Island Commission on Women.
