Application Period Now Closed

Tech Collective’s 2014 Fellowship Program connects recent Rhode Island college and university graduates with local IT and bioscience employers.

Funded by a Governor’s Workforce Board of Rhode Island (GWB) Jobs Initiatives Grant, Tech Collective's Graduate Fellowship program aims to build the workforce pipeline and fill talent gaps on two levels: (1.) providing industry employers with qualified candidates to potentially fill their open positions; and (2.) providing recent college graduates with hands-on industry experience and employment opportunities within Rhode Island.

How It Works

1.  RI IT and bioscience employers send us open entry-level  job positions

2.  We recruit applicants from RI colleges and universities

3.  We evaluate and match positions with candidates, then make recommendations to employers

4.  Employers conduct interviews and select Fellows

Timeline and Fellow Stipend

Tech Collective is currently accepting job descriptions and graduate cover letters and resumes. Fellowships will begin in June and run 10-12 weeks. Fellows are paid a $600 weekly stipend – half is paid by the host company and half is funded through GWB (companies can pay Fellows a higher stipend amount if they wish). It is anticipated Fellows will be considered for hire upon successful completion of the program.

Recent Bioscience and IT Graduates

The Fellowship program is open to recent RI graduates of bioscience or IT/CIS studies. Fellowship candidates must have graduated within the last six months from a RI college or university and must have earned a 2 or 4 year degree in a bioscience or IT/CIS related course of study. Graduates of industry-recognized bioscience or IT certificate programs will also be considered. Once selected, Fellows will participate in a work-readiness orientation before the start of the program as well as periodic group meetings throughout the program.
